Throughout our daily lives, we should always be ready and willing to use our faith. The Bible tells us that when we are in faith and use it, God is well pleased, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6).
When we are in faith, we show God how much we trust Him. One way we prove our faith and trust in Him is by our willingness to release unto Him something that is very dear to us. Oftentimes, God will put our faith to the test with the things that we hold dear to our heart just to see if we are in faith and trusting Him.
Surprisingly, this is where many believers fail because they have allowed the fear of losing that “thing” to replace their faith and trust in God; this results in their missing out on what God has for them. It is for this very reason that we should never allow fear to keep us from releasing unto God anything in our care or possession. We must believe that when we release this special or dear possession, we are expressing to God our faith and trust in Him.
Consider for a moment the story of baby Moses and how much his mother loved him. However, with her faith in God, she determined in her heart to release him. In other words, she left him in God’s care and by doing that God’s plan was fulfilled in his life.
If she had refused to give up Moses, all she would have accomplished was disaster for both of them and hindering God’s plan from being fulfilled in Moses’ life. In addition, it is quite possible that the suffering of God’s people would have been prolonged. But by using her faith and putting her trust in God, the high risk she took in letting Moses go pleased God and thus, the door of their future success and well-being was opened.
However, we must come to terms with the fact that it was not just because she gave up Moses that the victories were possible. First, she had to rid herself of every fear and then she had to release her faith and belief in God so things would be able to work out for her and Moses’ good just as God promised in His words, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God …” Romans 8:28). Can you imagine what would have happened if she had allowed herself to be overcome with the fear of losing her baby boy and continued hiding him? The possibilities are just endless.
Now my question to you is: “What is in your life at this very moment that is dear to you that God has been trying to use it to test your faith, but you are afraid to release it? Remember, if Moses’ mother allowed fear to overtake her, she would not have seen God’s glory in his or her life. So my prayer is that God will strengthen you to use your faith, and that you will trust Him enough to take Him at His word and do what He is requiring you to do—loose it and let it go. God Bless you abundantly.
