On November 12, 2000, Bishop Angelo Barbosa founded The Temple of Restoration, in Brooklyn New York. It was in obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Bishop Angelo stepped out in faith to start the Temple of Restoration ministry in the basement of a Baptist church, which was quite in need of repairs. In spite of the discomfort, a group of about twelve people, including himself and his wife, gathered to worship and serve the Lord.

His intense passion is to reach the needy and less privileged, through the transforming power of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. The anointing that accompanied the messages of healing, salvation and deliverance of this young and vibrant pastor greatly impacted the lives of those who attended the first service. As a result, those who heard the word, went away captivated by the vision of the ministry and shared their wonderful experiences.

With the news out, about the church where Jesus is changing lives, other people wanting to experience this change, began turning up in great numbers. Because of the crowd that gathered daily, to hear the messages of salvation, healing and deliverance, additional services were added to the schedule. As more people saw and experienced this power for themselves, the news spread even further. Before long, people were flying in from out of state and as far as London, England, to be delivered by the power of God. Through the changed lives the name of the Lord Jesus Christ was lifted higher.

In spite of many obstacles, God continued opening new doors for this ministry to fulfill His purpose. First He granted us the opportunity to broadcast the “Word of Hope”, on Television then on Radio. The man of God wasted no time in taking on these wings in the hope of touching more lives for the glory of God. In the process of time, other services were held in other states and even aboard.

Today, The Temple of Restoration’s doors are opened daily, in the United States, South Africa, mountainous Kingdom of Lesotho, Cape Verde, Brazil and Trinidad. The Temple receives the lost, the hurt, and the less privileged. They are encouraged to believe in the restorative power of the Lord Jesus Christ, who came to set captives free and He declared as was prophesied of Him, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,” Luke 4:18-19.

Bishop Angelo fully credits the success of this ministry to the leading and guidance of the Holy Spirit. He is grateful to the committed men and women of God who stand with him for integrity. They strongly believe in the vision and mandate of God for this ministry, and that is to, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature,” Mark 16:15.
